ALSO, since I really want to write a lot about my kittehs without boring the animal apathetic, I’m starting a new blog to record Calvin and Hobbes adventures. Bookmark it if you too love animals.
I learned that it’s very hard to photograph kittens and I am very impressed with anyone that manages to shoot them looking adorable.
Meet Calvin.
He’s adventurous but not very athletic. It takes him awhile to fall asleep because he has to walk all over you with tiny kitten paws before he’ll find somewhere comfortable. He mews very, very quietly (sometimes he makes no noise at all). He’s all black except for a thin white line of hair under his chin. He really likes looking out the window. He demands affection quite frequently. He likes to bite my hair when he wants to play.
Meet his brother, Hobbes.
Hobbs is a very subdued and relaxed kitty. He is skiddish around new people at first and likes to hide in the closet near my shoes. He also loves sleeping on any of Sean’s possessions — clothes especially. He is a great cuddler and finds a warm spot quickly. He watches his brother play for awhile before he pounces on the toys. He jumped up on the futon bed on his first try and often joins me when I’m lying in bed. As Caro said, he has an old soul. He’s also very photogenic.
You can check out more photos of them here. And for the record, I’m now officially a crazy cat lady I think! I laid with the kitties sleeping on me on the hardwood floor at like 2am for half an hour before I got back in bed.

Welcome to the fold. It only gets crazier and cattier from here.

They are so sweet! Getting two kittens was a really good idea. You and Sean are busy now and busier in the future, so they’ll be happier with a pal.
You are also correct that it is difficult to get good kitten photos — most of my kitten photos are when they are sleeping, because that is when they’d actually be still long enough to snap them.

Wait a minute… I see an “ES.” I thought you were adamant about spelling it Hobbs. What’s going on here?

Yeah Sean wanted it changed and I didn’t want everyone saying you spelled that wrong … for his whole life.

We always had a cat, and for years kittens to give away, I remember when my sis Norma wanted two, and took 2 females ( so they wouldn’t mate) and then both came up pg at the same time as she’d let them out.

That is funny about both preganant at same time — she hadn’t planned to have that many babies at once
I also remember the cat with the freakish medical problem that I wont repeat here for fear Sean sees it, but I think that was the last cat you had.
